Jess's run for Nokubegha - Hackney Half Marathon

Vitality Run Hackney Half 2017 · 30 April 2017 ·
I am running the Hackney half marathon for Nok! If you would like to support a great cause, any donation would be hugely appreciated.
Nok is 15 and lives in Swaziland. She has multi drug resistant TB. I am fundraising for The Aletheia Foundation so that they can pay her boarding school fees and help give Nok a brighter future.
The Aletheia Foundation is the charity arm of True Vision Productions. The foundation was set up in response to the number of viewers who want to donate and directly support the people who take part in our films.
Nok captured the hearts of many when she featured in BBC4's TB - Return of the Plague, directed by True Vision's Jezza Neumann. Nok tragically lost both her parents to TB and has the multi drug resistant strain of TB herself. Since broadcast The Aletheia Foundation has been able to pay for her boarding school fees, books and uniforms. Without the donations Nok would have to walk 30km a day to get to the nearest school.
We have been able to keep track of Nok's well-being with the help of Sandile who worked as a driver on the film. Four times a year Sandile travels to see Nok and brings her essential food and clothing.
But the donations are running out. The Aletheia Foundation is asking people to run, walk or jog Nok's miles for her so we can raise enough money to keep her in school.
On April 30th I will be running 13.1 miles around the streets of East London, past the Hackney Downs, Hackney Empire, Broadway Market, Victoria Park and the Olympic Stadium. This is less than Nok would have to walk EVERY DAY to get to school if we don't raise enough money for her fees. If you have any spare pennies to give, your support would be hugely appreciated!
Thanks
Jess xxx
