Sunday 7 June: No Paine, No Gain - A Sponsored Bike Ride from Thetford to Saffron Walden
Please help me celebrate 75 years of the wonderful civil liberties champions 'LIBERTY' by sponsoring me for this 75 km bike ride in their aid.
Liberty seeks to protect civil liberties and promote human rights for everyone in the UK.
All money I raise will go to helping Liberty pursue its aims through charitable activities, via Liberty's charitable wing, the Civil Liberties Trust. All donations will be gratefully received, so please give whatever sum you like.
Thomas Paine, a key figure in the French and American revolutionary movements and author of "The Rights of Man", died 200 years ago, on 8 June, 1809. He was born and spent his early years in the Norfolk town of Thetford.
The ride will go from Paine's statue in the centre of Thetford through the picturesque villages and country lanes of South Norfolk and North Essex to the medieval town of Saffron Walden.
