We fund research into type 1 diabetes to find a cure for type 1 diabetes

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

As a parent, it’s great to be able to nurse my daughter back to health when she’s not feeling well. However, for those children living with diabetes, the families have to manage the diabetes 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for life!

I’m very excited to be given the opportunity to trek the Great Wall of China, over 5 days, to raise much needed funds for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).  JDRF is the only charitable organisation in the world with the primary objective of finding the cure for type 1 (juvenile) diabetes and its complications.

The Great Wall stretches over 6,300km across northern China and traverses mountains, valleys and deserts.  The trek will be challenging, as I’ll be walking up to seven hours each day, over some really tough and often steep terrain.

LifeScan (a Johnson & Johnson company) is funding all the costs associated with the trek, so all monies raised will go directly to JDRF.  I would be most grateful if you could support my efforts by giving generously, so we can help JDRF find a cure for type 1 diabetes.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
