Story
Well these last few weeks have been a bit of a nightmare to say the least.
There is nothing worse than hearing sad news from people who you think of as family rather than friends. Three days in a row this happened. My best friend Tracey whom I have known from school was diagnosed with oesophageal/stomach cancer (same age as me 21 lol). My bestest buddy Paula’s dad has the exact same cancer. Double whammy there. Lastly we hear from our dear friend Gavin to say his daughter Francesca (aged 9) has leukaemia. To say I hate the word CANCER is an understatement.
Shocked by these pieces of news it’s hard to know what to say to these friends. I’m sorry just doesn’t sound right. All you can offer them your support by being there if they need you. Let them know that you are there to be a shoulder to cry on, to rant and rave to, chat to etc. Oh if only you could take the pain away.
Well I have decided to take the plunge and shave my head for 2 charities, The Oesophageal Patients Association and Cancer Fund for Children (NI).
I will be supporting my friend Tracey by having my head shaved at the same time as her. What a laugh we will have (and possibly a good cry too).
Please can you donate to my just giving page to help raise some money for these worthwhile charities.
I will be updating you on the date of the head shaving and I will also put the video on Facebook of the event.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
