The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen in one of our ten ‘Homes from Home’. By providing families with somewhere to stay near their child they have one less thing to worry about.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hi, as most of you who know me already know my son Blake has had quite a few problems since he was born and has needed a lot of care over the years both in and out of various different hospitals. Recently we were in Sheffield Children's Hospital for quite some time and while we were there i received a lot of support from The Sick Children's Trust. They gave me a home away from home so i could stay with Blake and be with him 24/7 while he was on the high dependency ward. They provided me with a room to stay in at 'Treetop house' with facilities to wash my clothes, store food and cook meals and also the facilities to have a bath/shower when needed. These may seem like just little things but it made such a big difference to me at such a difficult and stressful time. Thankfully Blake is now back home and doing really well, so i wanted to do something so I can give something back to the charity that helped me so much. I know the charity depends entirely on donations to help keep it going and I want to ensure that the same support is there for someone else when they need it, as it was for me because it really did make a big difference to me at the time :)

Please support me and my brother Tom Eidson and donate anything you can and help us support The Sick Children's Trust......

The Sick Children's Trust believes that no child should be separated from their family whilst in hospital receiving treatment for serious illness. They believe keeping families together significantly improves the recovery of seriously ill children.

The Sick Children's Trust provides high quality ‘Home from Home’ accommodation, as well as emotional and practical support, to families of sick children in hospital in the UK. They provide free, high-quality ‘Home from Home’ accommodation, as well as emotional and practical support, to families with sick children in hospital in the UK.
At the moment they have ten 'Homes from Home' at leasing children's hospitals across the UK and support around 3,500 families every year.
The Sick Children's Trust can make a real difference to the lives of children in hospital and their families who are struggling to cope. They need to raise at least £1.6 million a year in order to make this possible.

It costs just £28 to host a family for one night, so every penny counts. It is our incredible supporters who make all the difference to the lives of the families we support.

There is an ever growing demand for our 'Homes from Home' from families of all backgrounds as seriously ill children must increasingly travel long distances to get the specialist treatment they need.
