Story

I am taking part in the national 2.6 challenge for South London Cares.

On March 13th, South London Cares had to suspend all face-to-face activities in order to keep our community safe. Since then, the team have worked incredibly hard to keep older people connected during the COVID-19 crisis.

Since then, they have been calling older neighbours to see if they need anything, setting people up on Zoom, running virtual Social Clubs, and matching people for phone friendships - all to make sure no one feels alone. during this time of crisis.

I am going to cycle 26km around the boroughs we work in (Southwark and Lambeth) on Sunday 26th March, to raise a bit of money and help South London Cares to deliver this vital work which keeps my community connected.

About the campaign

The 2.6 Challenge is a simple and fun way for everyone to do their bit to help save the UKs charities.

About the charity

South London Cares is a community network of young professionals and older neighbours hanging out with one another in a rapidly changing city. Through our Social Clubs and Love Your Neighbour (one-to-one) activities, neighbours share a little extra time, laughter and human companionship.
