Story
Three years on from my circumnavigation of Mainland Britain, I have decided to take on another endurance adventure. My plan, is to attempt to paddle around Ireland solo starting in mid-May. Waiting for fair winds, I will launch from Kinsale and travel
clockwise around the Emerald.
The primary objective as always, is
safety. Whether I manage one or all 1000 miles, coming back safely is at
the forefront. Secondary objective is the circumnavigation. Many have
tried, few have succeeded because what stands in the way is raw Atlantic
menace. If it takes a year to close the loop, then so be it. Neptune is
boss. Finally…speed! I have a keen eye on Jeff and Harry’s 2011 record of 25 days and would unashamedly love to challenge it. I am a firm believer in pushing the boundaries of our sport in every direction.
