Duchenne UK Triathlon 2017 · 17 September 2017 ·

As the leading Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) charity in the UK, we want to find effective treatments for DMD and end its devastating impact. We’re going further than anyone has before, and we’re doing it faster, because this generation of people living with DMD can’t wait.

Story

On 23rd September I'm attempting to complete my first and only Ironman in Italy. Ahead of that I'm doing one more 'normal' Olympic triathlon.

This will be my 17th and last triathlon and I wanted to use the occasion to raise some much needed money for Duchenne UK - an amazing charity that aims to find treatments and a cure for children suffering with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a muscle wasting disease.

This disease is nasty.

I first came across it when I was reporting for BBC South Today and met an amazing young boy who was recently diagnosed. His prognosis was, like everyone who has the condition, not good. But he held his head up high and was living his likely short life to the full.

Please help me raise the modest sum of £250 to help the charity find a cure.
