AZAB 2015 Yacht Race · 6 June 2015

1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer. At Prostate Cancer UK, we’re giving every man the power to navigate it. With over £100 million invested in research, treatment, and care, we’re building a future where prostate cancer no longer cuts men’s lives short. Together, we can help save men’s lives.

Story

This year Swift Sailing was looking for a challenge and has decided to enter the AZAB Race. The AZAB is a yacht race covering 2,400 miles of Atlantic Ocean from Falmouth to Ponte Delgada in the Azores and back.

We have entered the race in the double-handed category, the crew being myself and Barry Brixey

There have been months of preparation and our yacht ‘Swift’ is almost ready. Our final tasks are fitting a 'Wind Steering Vane' and a wind generator. Swift already has solar panels, and with the addition of the wind generator we will have power under most conditions.

Swift Sailing is also using this challenge as an opportunity to raise awareness and funds for Prostate Cancer UK.
