Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. The Bath Bikeathon on Sunday 16 September is a chance to enjoy the warm, sunny day and to show support for this blood cacer charity. They do this every year at this time. Many show up but the event receives little coverage.
This year I managed to make it to Bristol and back to Bath in 1 hour 32 minutes. It is not a race. I enjoyed the company on the ride. A few started to ride faster and of course I wouldn't let them pass me. Pity I was only 62 years young. If I was 42 years younger I know that my time would be an easy 60 minutes round trip. They had no chance! I met many new friends at the event who also lost their loved ones. My wife died in 2004. We can relate.
I had a 4.2 mile run afterwards to make up my 11 mile training run for the Bristol Half Marathon on 30 September. The equivalent running time is equal to two thirds the cycling time. Work it out. The easy pace of 9 min/mile for 2/3 x 92 minutes is equivalent to 6.8 miles. The race pace is 8 minutes per mile. Perhaps I'll see you on that day?
I haven't seen any donations yet. Will you be the first? Any amount is acceptable.
