Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This page is dedicated to John-Ross Mitchell.

In February 2013, at 23 years old John-Ross was diagnosed with a brain tumour, a week later he was operated on and for the following  months until December he was receiving treatment.

We was told after the operation he had a year to live and this tumour could not be beaten, but being a man of strong faith in God this didn't phase him.

In February 2014 JR was due to undergo the next course of chemotherapy, however he and the family received the ultimate news. The tumour was gone, disease nil, all that was left was the space that it had occupied, and he was instructed to go forward and live his life,  whether he wants to jump out of an aeroplane, climb or mountain or whatever it may be, he was a healed man with his whole life ahead of him, the tumour was beaten.

He and the family enjoyed 52 days of bliss, but another headache followed, and the tragic news that another tumour had developed on the other side, but still John-Ross still wasn't phased.

On the 16th May John-ross passed away in peace.

JR was a fighter, he was strong in his belief in God and he didn't give up until the very end, he didn't moan, he didn't complain, even in his final days he put his family before himself, he truly was a selfless, beautiful man.

The pain of losing John-Ross will never fade, the memory will never weaken  and his name will never be forgotten,  and through this we hope to raise funds to help people in the future who have this evil illness.

Donating to this page will go to the Neuro-oncology research department at the Royal Marsden Hospital, who helped JR beat the tumour the first time.

We know it won't be easy, we know there won't be an overnight solution, and we know that this page may only raise a drip in the ocean when compared to the funding these causes receive, but we want to do everything we can to help try and find a cure by contributing to the research of beating brain tumours, every little helps and together one day we might just have the cure this world needs so badly.

In loving memory of John-Ross Mitchell, a gentleman warrior.
