In memory of John Andrew Stewart
We deliver palliative and end-of-life care to adults who have life-limiting illnesses

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We have set up this page following the peaceful passing of our beloved John Andrew Stewart - Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather, and Friend.

Sadly, John had been recently diagnosed with advanced lung cancer, which had spread and was un-treatable. Following a short time in hospital and some very special final days at home, John passed away peacefully on 2nd May 2020 surrounded by family.

Once home from hospital,  one of the wonderful Macmillan nurses, Angela Bremner, visited to care for John and also arranged for HospiceCare North Northumberland to provide care in his final hours.

The absolutely wonderful nurses looked after John and ourselves with such professionalism and compassion - day and night. We honestly couldn't have coped without them and are so thankful for the love and care they showed us at the most difficult time. We cannot praise them highly enough and will be forever thankful for what they have done.

We want to give back to HospiceCare to say thank you for what they have done for us, but also to ensure that others can receive this vital care.

Given the current restrictions surrounding Coronavirus, a funeral collection has not been possible. We would be so grateful if you were willing to donate to this wonderful service - no matter how small an amount - in John's memory.

Thank you from all the family.
