Flora London Marathon 2008 · 13 April 2008 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

On Sunday 14th April, after some awful weather, (torrential rain followed by hailstones at the end!) I managed to complete the London marathon with a time of 4 hours and 5 minutes. I didn't manage to meet my target of under 4hours (and I did get overtaken by a very fast Womble on mile 21!) but I'm still pleased with the time as it really is much tougher mentally and physically then you think it would be.

I'm running for two charities, Just a Drop and The Stroke Association, this page is for The Stroke Association, the other page is www.justgiving.com/johnhoque if you'd like to donate for that charity.

I'll be running for The Stroke Association, my father passed away 6 months ago from a stroke, and greater knowledge on how to prevent stroke would have helped him, so this charity means a lot to me. Please donate however much you can, thanks!
