Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Lisa and I met while working at the Martin Hospice shop in Shipley, and discovered we both had the desire to raise  funds and awareness in a BIG way.

To celebrate our shop's 1st Birthday we decided to become 'Jolly Jumpers'. Neither of us has organised anything as BIG as a charity parachute jump so we combined forces to raise as much money as we can together.

Like many people I had not heard of Martin House children's hospice, that was until my family needed help. My niece Claire gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Dylan in April 2011, he had severe health complications and lost his fight for life 1st May 2011.Martin House was there for my family, it is a small but very special place with limited access to public funds, so rely heavily on charitable donations. I want to do my bit to help keep Martin House running so it will always be there.

As for the 'jumping out of a plane' to do this....well, we both wanted to freefall which is the next best thing to actually flying. So we plucked up our courage, contacted the Hospice  and set our sights high. We aim to raise at least £1000 with your help, so if you have any ideas or events we can attend or would like to help get our posters out there please email herbalremedy@hotmail.co.uk

A big thank you in advance xx
