Story
Hiya,
I’m after your money – just a little bit of it to help in the incredible work Marie Curie do for people living with cancer. One in three people will develop cancer in their lives. If you are really really lucky, it won’t be you or anyone you love but at some point it WILL affect someone you really care about and when that happens you will want them to be helped in any possible way to enjoy a rich and rewarding life whilst they cope with their illness.
I’m hoping to raise £435 which is enough for Marie Curie to care for an in patient for one day or to provide 22 hours of care in a patients own home. No amount is too small and all donations will help to make someone’s life a little bit easier.
I’m not asking you to give your money away for nothing. As well as the exceptional use Marie Curie will make of your donation you will be ensuring that I take to the streets in an act of supreme humiliation. My last competitive race was the 200metres in 1977 when I came last. Until six weeks ago I hadn’t run another metre so sponsoring me to run 5 K is not only a fabulous generous thing to do it could guarantee you a great laugh. I’ll be the person at the start of the race looking like Daphne Broon in a yellow vest. Come hell or high water I will complete the course – even if I have to hang on like grim death to the vest of some fit guy young enough to be my son and get dragged across the line like Anne Widdicombe doing the jive on Strictly.
Thanks for reading this, and an even bigger thanks for donating.
Love ya! Julie xx
