Story
UPDATE!! We did it in under five hours and it was AMAZING! The crowd was fantastic and it was so kind of so many of you to come out and watch. It is now the morning after and every muscle in our bodies is in AGONY but it was so worth it. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!
Josh and Liam!
Friends, Family and Colleagues!
I am thrilled to announce that I will be running the 2008 London Marathon in aid of the Terrence Higgens Trust (THT), a really amazing charity that I passionatley believe in and one that supports over 50,000 people infected or affected by HIV in the UK. I am also thrilled that my very good friend Liam will be joining me on the start line and that he is also raising funds for THT.
I was so overwhelmed last year at the support, motivation and encouragement that you all gave me on my last attempt at the marathon and I was devastated when I had to pull out due to knee injuries. I have had a year of medical treatment and have left it to the last minute to announce that I was running this year as I wanted to be absolutely sure that I could do this. With Liam cracking the whip our training is on schedule and with the big event being only a month away, my knee is working perfectly. I am confident that we will be on the start (and finish) line on April 13th so please dust off the credit card and donate!
We can only do this with your support and we are asking you to dig deep and donate whatever you can towards our efforts and to this fantastic charity. HIV continues to be the fastest growing serious health condition in the UK and in the last five years there has been an 83% rise in new cases. HIV is an illness that could affect any one of us. In the UK alone every 90 seconds a person is diagnosed as HIV positive and one day it could be you or your loved one who will need to turn to THT for help and guidance.
To all of you who donated last year to Josh's failed attempt THANK YOU! Your donations have been carried over (although your welcome to donate again!) and thanks to your support we start the pot this year with £2356 already raised for THT.
With Love and Gratitude!
