Ocean Youth Trust North takes young people away from their everyday routine and inspires them to make positive changes to their lives through ‘Adventure under Sail’. We use sailing and the traditional practices of seafaring as tools for personal and social development. The Trust is the sole provider of challenging, residential sailing expeditions in the North of England for youth of all abilities and backgrounds. We partner with youth and educational organisations providing an opportunity for young people to achieve personal growth. The Trust is a member of the Association of Sail Training Organisations and the Institute for Outdoor Learning. It is a Royal Yachting Association Training Centre and approved to run The Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Story

Hallo Everyone,

As you may know from previous posts, I did manage to complete theRound Britain and Ireland Race 2014 in good order (and the subsequent Great North Run in not so good order) and I’m very grateful for the generous donations you all gave towardsthe Ocean Youth Trust North.

It's summer 2017 and since the Fastnet I've managed to sneak in a few other ocean races culminating in the Sydney Hobart last year.  But the bad news (for me) is that due to an administrative error on my part I'm doing the Great North Run yet again

I can't offer any glittering prizes this year but if you've a few quid left over after and if I manage to complete this one (or particularly if I don't) the Ocean Youth Trust would be most grateful as it continues with its great work on the good ship James Cook.

Cheers,

John
