Update on J'ssiah's progress - 21/04/2015

3 year old J'ssiah needs our help to beat Leukaemia! Diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) when he was aged just one, all J'ssiah has known is a world of treatments and therapy.

J'ssiah's family is asking the community to rally round and help their precious little boy in his time of need.

His family is planning to take J'ssiah overseas to receive further treatments. Although he received a stem cell transplant from his 7 year old brother, Kyerell, the sad news is that J'ssiah has suffered a second relapse.

Please support J'ssiah by giving what you can to help fund his travel and treatment - and give him some much needed moments of fun with his family at this very stressful time.

All funds raised will go towards J'ssiah's travel and treatment.

Previous fundraising was undertaken in April 2014 to send a then  2 year old J'ssiah on a trip of a lifetime and to raise funds for ACLT charity.

Thank you.

J'ssiah's story

J’ssiah was diagnosed was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia when he was one year old. He was on steroids, numerous blood transfusions and underwent intensive chemotherapy treatment which has resulted in weight gain, weight and hair loss also aligned with extremely painful side effects (and still continues to go through this).  J’ssiah has also suffered from pneumonia and shallow breathing, not great for a two year old boy who just wants to run around and play.

Consultants at The Royal Marsden Hospital have confirmed J’ssiah’s brother Kyerell (aged 6) is a perfect bone marrow/stem cell match which is great news.  In order for J’ssiah to receive the donated stem cells from his older (but still young) brother, he needs to be well enough for the transplant to go ahead. Without a successful stem cell transplant taking place, J’ssiah will not be cured from this life threatening disease.

Beverley De-Gale OBE, is the co-founder & Director of Operations of blood cancer charity ACLT says:

“To be able to arrange an all expenses paid trip for two year old J’ssiah, in order to give him a break from his world of treatment and therapy would be wonderful treat for J’ssiah and his sibling and by setting up this fundraising page, that is what we’re hoping to achieve.  Young J’ssiah has had to climb many difficult mountains in his short life and now his brother is schedule to undertake a procedure that many adults choose to ignore, despite the fact they have the opportunity to save a life.  The bravery of J’ssiah and his brother should be celebrated.”

"If you’re an organisation or an individual who can help towards the cost of J’ssiah Brown’s Trip of A Lifetime, please make your donation here."
