Update:  Well we made it to the end of the walk, enticed on by the promise of a cup of tea and slice of cake at the end. (Actually our discussions regarding what sort of cake it would be propelled us through the final three miles when our feet were really rather sore.  I wonder if that is Paula Radcliffe's technique.... )  And if the cake in question turned out to be rather disappointing, the walk itself certainly didn't.  We had the most perfect conditions, blue sky, sunshine and a light breeze.  So to all of you who have sponsored me and wished me well - many thanks!  If you haven't yet sponsored me but would like to, there's still time!

In 2003 when I was diagnosed with a brain tumour I was assigned a Macmillan nurse.  She gave me wonderful help and support and kept me positive even when things looked desperate.  Her help was one of the factors in keeping me here still!
