Story

International Stammering Awareness Day

International Stammering Awareness Day is 22nd October 2010.

To celebrate, the British Stammering Association is planning a guided walk around London taking in the historical sites associated with famous people who stammer. The 5 mile walk will take place in Central London on Saturday, 23rd October 2010.

1% of the worldwide population has a stammer, and there is no cure for stammering.

Why I'm Walking

I'm participating in the walk to do a bit of sightseeing, but more importantly to support the BSA and promote stammering awareness.

As a person who stammers, I've gone through my own on-going journey of self-acceptance and would like to help others.
