Flora London Marathon 2009 · 26 April 2009 ·

We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

Hello and thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

After years of watching the television coverage of the London Marathon (usually in my pyjamas!) and thinking I would love to do that, I finally did something about it and took the plunge.  I was honoured to run the Flora London Marathon on behalf of the NSPCC on Sunday 26th April 2009.

I finished in a time of 5 hours 11 minutes which I am so proud of, especially as I had a foot injury and needed a steroid injection a few days before!  I'm never going to take off my medal :0)

I had never ran a marathon before this and those of you who know me well will know in the past could barely run up the stairs!  I started my training in  August/September last year (fear was a great motivator) and I slowly built up my mileage and confidence.  Knowing that I have your support helped motivate me all the more in those cold winter months of training.

It would be wonderful if, together, we could help make a difference to the lives of children who need the support of the NSPCC.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: NSPCC gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Please make a donation and forward this link to your friends and family.  You really will be making a difference...and make the pain worthwhile!

Thank you.
