The 2.6 Challenge is a simple and fun way for everyone to do their bit to help save the UKs charities.

Story

Save the UK's CharitiesGeneral fundraising has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled and many charities, particularly smaller ones, are struggling to maintain services because of this huge reduction in income. This impacts all sectors of society from children to the elderly as well as the vital work in areas such as palliative care, serious diseases, mental health, housing support, food supplies and countless others that charities support.

As most of my friends know I had a huge hip operation back in November, due to a boot camp injury 5 years ago!! and I am still using 1 crutch 6 months post op. As the Corona virus stopped my physio classes I bought a seated bicycle to help with my recovery. I want to do something to help people during this horrible time as I can't do very much e.g. can't drive to help with food deliveries etc. So when I saw the 2.6 challenge advertised to replace the cancelled London Marathon I wanted to help raise funds for Dundee Food Train to ensure the vulnerable and elderly receive food packages. I pledge to complete 26miles on my bike. I will try and complete 1 mile per day starting from Sunday 26th April and finishing on May 21st ( my sister's birthday). I will post pictures of my completed mileage every day and all I ask you is to make a small donation to my page to help support this charity.

Thanks

Julie
