Story
So, I managed to complete the marathon in 4hr32mins. If I'm honest I am a little disappointed with the time, although I feel a lot better today than I did yesterday. In fact, I am now thinking that I need to beat this time........
I would like to say a MASSIVE thanks to everyone who sponsored me. I am overwhelmed with the generosity of my friends and family. I know that at times I was nagging people to sponsor me but I think I will have raised nearly £3700 when all the money is collected. This is bound to make a huge difference to the lives of those people whom CAFOD supports.

Hi.
In April 2008 I went to support Bernadette in the London Marathon and although it was tipping down with rain decided that I would like to complete it as well.
My first mission was to give up smoking, which I successfully did a year ago. Although I used to run on the treadmill I had never been running outside until April this year. From then on I commenced my training for the Swindon Half Marathon. I thought that if I could manage this then I would definitely be able to do a full marathon. I completed the Half Marathon in a respectable 1:57:28, but I owe that to Dermot helping me get round a course full of millions of hills.
I am running the marathon for CAFOD which does a lot of good for developing countries. I have pledged £2500 so I need as many sponsors as possible.
Thanks very much for any donation you make.
