Group B Streptococcus is the UK's most common cause of life-threatening infection in newborn babies & of meningitis in babies under age 3 months. Most of these infections are preventable. Group B Strep Support informs families & health professionals about group B Strep to save tiny lives.

Story

On the 19th August 08 our daughter Olivia was born, very shortly after she fell seriously ill and was in intensive care for over 10 days. She had developed Group B Strep, a lifethreatening illness which can help be prevented by getting a test done when you are pregnant. I was not aware of GBS and at present no testing is currently offered through NHS.

We didn't know if she would live and it was a horrific time for our families, which could have been prevented.Olivia is now doing well so far and we consider ourselves very lucky indeed.

Vicki and I are  running this half marathon to help GBS Support Charity raise awareness and continue to support families affected by this infection. Please, please sponsor us because its such a huge help for tiny people.

Thank you.
