I took part in race for life 7 years ago after losing a family member from breast cancer and this year I happy to take part again for 2016 . I can remember the very first I time I heard the word cancer as a family friend had passed away from cancer in the early 80's  when I was a teenager . Awareness of cancer was very different back then.,I assumed cancer was something only old people suffered. How wrong was I you can be affected  by cancer at any age I have learned this over the years .

I'm sure we can all relate to someone we know that has been diagnosed with cancer or sadly lost their fight.

In the past 14 months alone 3 lovely young ladies very close to home have been diagnosed with breast cancer. My cousin partner, a work colleague, a family member who had a recent scare and one of my best friends.

I want to be supportive and it's very frustrating how useless we feel when this happens. I will always support my love ones  and anyone who is affected by this dreaded cancer.
Which is why  I am taking part again in the race for life. To give up a few hours to raise money is nothing compared to the people who are fighting cancer... I will very be grateful if you will kindly sponsor me and your donations whatever you can spare will all add up in the end.
