Story

This October, I am doing a sponsored 10,000ft freefall parachute jump in aid of Newlife. I'm doing this because I care. I want to do this to raise money to fund vital equipment and care for those children that are disabled and terminally ill. This charity is my employers charity partnership and whilst reading about the charity I discovered I could make a tiny difference. Anybody who knows me...knows I'm outgoing and love children....but I wouldn't be doing something like this unless there were people to benefit from it :) The money I raise will make such a difference to the charity!!
Sure, I may be jumping out of a plane from 10,000ft with just a parachute for back up, but if I can raise just a small amount of money whilst doing such an amazing thing, and make a small difference to a child's life....then why wouldn't I?! I need all the sponsers I can get guys, I need to raise over £400, so any donation, great or small is so greatly greatly appreciated. Children will benefit greatly from your kindness!! Please sponsor me..and make a huge difference to a child's life at the same time :) Thank You :)
A little bit from the Newlife website:
We now have more disabled children in the UK than ever before. These disabilities are often due to:
  • Birth defect conditions and malformations
  • Premature birth related conditions
  • Accidents and injury
  • Cancers and acquired disorders
  • Serious infections
Newlife are a charity that:
- funds vital medical researchto help understand, prevent and treat such conditions
- Newlife Nurses are the gateway to information, grants and care. They man a national Helpline which supports and informs families, whether they have just been told of their child’s disability or need help accessing local services. The Newlife Nurse Helpline is free, confidential and trusted.
Nothing is too small or too important to discuss with a trusted Newlife Nurse. In addition, Newlife Foundation offers grants for essential medical equipment.
-The effects of many such disabilities can be reduced or minimised by the provision of equipment. But the provision of such equipment is often hit and miss nationally, with statutory providers failing to meet the growing need of children and families. Such equipment can: relieve pain, aid mobility, assist communication, give independence, keep a child safe or enable them to excel or learn. Yet families tell of the ‘battles’ they have to get the equipment they need, facing lengthy delays, for assessments, provision refusal and budget failings. That’s why Newlife equipment grants and loans are so important. They ‘enable’ children and families and make a major impact on their lives. Newlife also recognised the specific needs of terminally ill children, who Just Can't Wait for statutory services to respond to their needs. The 'Just Can't Wait' equipment loan service aims to deliver items from its suite of specialist equipment within 72 hours anywhere in the UK.
Please take the time to look at the website to read more about the work that they do. http://www.newlifecharity.co.uk
Having worked as a nursery nurse and working closely with children, both able bodied and non able bodied, I know that specific equipment is vital to their daily needs, to ensure comfort, to enable them to play just as any other, to experience life as any other child would, to experience the simple things in life such as play or learning...why should they be disadvantaged?
Any donations will be so greatly appreciated :) Thank You
