Story
I am doing Race for Life in memory of my husband Anthony Stewart Mottram. Tony died on Friday 15th August 2014 aged just 52. He was a very fit man, always on his bike, he just loved to cycle. He started to get stroke-like symptoms mid to late June, he had a seizure in July and it was then that we found out he had a brain tumour, a very aggressive Glioblastoma Multiforme IV. We were told it was inoperable and that he didn't have very long left - we were numb, I still am and it still hasn't properly registered ... in fact I don't know if or when it actually will. I think the severity of what Tony had and the speed in which this awful disease spread took us all by surprise. We just didn't have time to get used to any of it. Cancer is horrible, I don't think there is anyone that hasn't been affected by it in some way. We really need to do everything we can to find a cure/stop more people suffering. This is my way of helping - I am the most unfit person I know but I am determined to do this and do something for Cancer Research, and I thank each and every one of you that has sponsored me so far - you have also helped by donating ... thank you xxx
