We fund medical equipment and support to help transform lives

Story

Two years ago, my ex husband, John Moorhouse, was diagnosed with colon cancer. Unfortunately, by the time it was discovered, the cancer had spread from his colon, to his liver and subsequently spread to his lungs and spine. After several operations, extensive radio therapy and ongoing chemotherapy, thanks to scientific developments, John’s illness, though not curable, seems to be treatable, and he is enjoying rude health! There is now no trace of cancer in John’s spine, and the growths in his lungs and liver are very much reduced.

My father was diagnosed with exactly the same cancer, some 20 years ago. Medicine, research, knowledge and application have developed so far in the last 20 years, that John is enjoying  a much healthier life now, than my father did then. There has been so much progress in our battle against cancer, so many success stories, and it is  in order to further this drive, this energy, that John and I, just recently remarried, are joining the New Victoria Medical Foundation (NVMF) team and climbing Mount Kilimanjaro later this year .... Gulp!  John and I  are, needless to say, Climbing for Cancer! We will not however have the Red Nose support team with us...... how will I carry all my anti-wrinkle stuff!
