Story

I'm supporting Shine by taking on the London Marathon 2022!

We love Shine because they offer amazing support to people from before birth and throughout the life of anyone living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, as well as to parents, families, carers and professional care staff.

We know this becuase we have used this support.  Our eldest son, Michael, has Spina Bifida which affects his mobility and some other things.  Shine have always been a wonderful soure of support and connection for us: we have met other people experiencing similar things and love the supportive community they have created. We really want to honour and support their work and help them to continue to offer their amazing support to other families.

I am relatively new to running and so excited to be running in the London Marathon.  This is a massive challenge for me.  18 months ago I didn't own a pair of trainers, and here I am planning on running a sub 5hr marathon.  I've switched the gin for the gym and the Caramac for the Tarmac.  :)

Shine enables people to get the best out of life. Many of Shine's services are entirely funded by the generosity of the general public. Your donation helps individuals and families in your local communities across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Every donation has the potential for profound impact.THANK YOU for supporting Shine!
