We enable donors around the world to support forgotten people in Zimbabwe

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Its a bit late in the day to get my page up and running as I leave in a week's time to walk from Chester to Worcester on the Shropshire Union Canal, the Stafford and Worcester Canal and the River Severn over a period of 5 days and a distance of 100 miles.  But I realised I had missed a trick in not supporting a charity.  In these days of catastrophes such as Syria and Nepal no opportunity should be missed to raise money.  After all, some money is better than no money.

It is nice to be able to support ZANE who do such amazing work in Zimbabwe in supporting 2,600 elderly people including 600 ex-British servicemen and their wives and widows who are destitute with very little money to live on.

Tom Benyon, who started the Charity in 2002, has walked many miles over the British Isles to raise £1,700,000 for ZANE which is a staggering amount and puts my walks in the shade!

Also, to have the support of friends and to know I am collecting money for such a worth-while cause will make it much easier for me to keep putting one foot in front of the other, especially on those days when I have no company.

So many thanks again for your donations.  I, and those veterans in Zimbabwe, will be eternally grateful.
