Story

Those who know me well will raise an eyebrow at the thought that I'm running! Rest assured this 5K will be a one-off. It'll be a memorable moment where I pound the pavement and think about my last year that was taken over by my quest to fight breast cancer and survive. This is my way of saying thank you to the surgeon, oncology team and wonderful medical staff at Mount Alvernia Hospital in Guildford who saved my life. It's been a journey I never expected to be part of and one that was only possible to endure with the help of very dear friends who cooked, cared for my children, visited and sat with me during my chemotherapy sessions. A year on I am ready to cast aside my glamorous wig and with the support of my daughters embark on a spot of jogging. It goes without saying that if you fancy supporting me in this venture you won't be backing a medalist! I stand before you though, as a winner in my very own Race for Life.
