London - Battersea Park 5k 2015 19:30 · 10 June 2015 ·
Hi All,
As many of you know, I turned 30 this year and as a resolution I decided this was the year to get fitter and lose a bit of the flab I had collected. Part of this challenge was to (attempt to) take up running and run a 5K Race for Life without walking or stopping.
Anyone that knows me knows that I am not exactly what you would call a 'natural runner' (running for a bus would leave me breathless) but the time has come and I have entered Race for life on Wednesday 10th June 2015 in Battersea Park (last minute as usual).
I know some people might question why donate money to someone that is 'reaching one of their goals' but the reason I chose a goal that would include running Race for Life is because Cancer Research is a charity I feel passionately about.
Cancer is a ruthless disease and It doesn't care who you are, your age, how fit you are, or what a nice person you have been. Watching a loved one pass away in such a terrible way is one of the hardest things I have ever had to experience and soon 1 in 2 people in the UK will be diagnosed with some form of cancer during their lifetime. I really believe in supporting finding a cure and developing treatments so that fewer go through what I did.
So, in summary, I am running this for those who suffer from, those who are survivors of, and those who support family and friends with cancer.
I would be forever grateful if you could please sponsor me as little or as much as you can.
Much love,
Kat xx
Ps. Anyone that would like to come cheer me on/fancies a laugh can come and watch me run at 7:30pm on Wednesday 10th June at Battersea Park.
