Story
Well, I did it, and without any aches or pains the next day....result!!!
Total time was 1h 37mins.....not the fastest but not the slowest either. So pretty pleased with that!
If your wanting a laugh you can find some photos on the following link (selecting the triathlon and entering my name)
In fact, you may call me mad, but I really enjoyed the training and the actual event. So I have entered another one, which will be taking place in Thame on 26th July.....so the training continues!!!!
Thank you to you all for you generous donations. I am so happy that I managed to meet my target, with your help. As you know it will go to a great cause!
If you wanted to sponsor me but haven't managed to for one reason or another, my page is still active (so taking you donations) up to 3 months following the event, so it's not too late.
For those that are visiting my page for the first time, below is a brief explanation on the charity you will be supporting.
Alstrom Syndrome is a rare genetic disorder, which appears as a unique collection of distressing conditions (highlighted below). Some or all of these conditions appear in childhood & through adolescence & are devastating to patients & their families. All affect quality of life & some are life threatening with the result that it is the exception for sufferers to reach middle age. This condition is so rare that there are only about 50 known cases in the UK. However because the symptoms are shared with other disorders, correct diagnosis is often late or missed altogether with disastrous consequences for those affect.
By sponsoring me to complete the triathlon, not only will you be supporting Alstrom Syndrome UK to help families affected, but you'll also be helping increase awareness of this terrible genetic disorder.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Alstrom Syndrome UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Once again thank you for your support!!
