Hello, my name is Aimee Kaye. I am 25 years old, I recently moved here from England and I’m currently living in Michigan. I’d like to honor my cousin Nick. Nick took his own life on May 2nd, 2018 after battling with mental health issues for many years. He was not only my cousin, but a great friend and someone who will never be forgotten. He touched so many lives and created so many smiles. 

Together, my boyfriend, Victor, and I would like to run the Warrior Dash on July 21st to raise the awareness of suicide. The Warrior Dash is a 5K obstacle race that pushes our bodies through the elements of earth, air, fire and water.

My charity is Grass Roots Suicide Prevention located in Hove, United Kingdom where he grew up and who he was touch with. I’d like to raise as much money as I can to help others contemplating suicide, but also to thank them for being there for Nick. This is one way that I can honor Nick. Any amount that you can donate, I am grateful. Thank you.

We would like to raise money and awareness to help reduce these figures:

•  In the US Suicide is the 10^th leading cause of death in the US for all ages.
  
• Suicide is the leading cause of death among young people aged 20-34 years in the UK
  
•  There is one death by suicide in the US every 12 minutes
• More than 55,000 suicides occur in the European Union each year, including more than 6,000 in the UK and Ireland.
