The Kempton family will be cycling from Canterbury to Rome in a few weeks to raise funds for Sheffield Rape and Sexual AbuseCentre this summer. This is a huge challenge for us and will take 12 days and at least one evening. The cyclists are Jane and daughters Victoria and Emma and our support driver is Doug. The maximum daily mileage is 125 miles (assuming we don’t get lost) and the climb for that day is 6167 feet. The maximum daily climb is 6200 feet. We will be cycling through England, France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy going over the Alps.
The Sheffield Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre is an independent specialist sexual violence service supporting children and adult survivors who have experienced rape or sexual abuse at any time in their lives. They offer survivors a freephone helpline where trained volunteers provide a listening and support service. The centre also offers free face to face counselling in a safe space. £45 pays for one session of face to face counselling, £35 pays for the centre to be open for one day, £10 pays for 1 Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)check for a volunteer to help prevent unsuitable people from spring with their clients and £5 pays for their telephone helpline to be open for 5 hours.
