Ken Michie, formerly Royal Navy, (where he was known as Arnfield-Michie), BEAS and Bristow Helicopters suffered with Alzheimers for years, he passed away Sunday 14th March. Ken was a pilot of courage, a loving husband and father and a person of great adventure and laughter. The funeral and thanksgiving service is on Monday 22nd March 12.00 at st. Mary The Virgin. Howe.

Ken suffered with Alzheimers Disease in the latter part of his life. Alzheimers affects 700,000 people in the UK but only £11 is spent per person every year on research, a fraction compared with other terminal diseases. Alzheimers can affect anyone at any age and there is little awareness or understanding of people who develop the disease which can make it very difficult for them and their families to get proper support.
