Ifor children's ward - TV appeal!
Fundraising for Whittington Health Charity
Friends,
Compared to rising waters in Pakistan, double-dip depressions, coalition cutbacks and antipodean earthquakes, asking for help to provide televisions for a children’s ward may seem a featherweight issue. However, charity begins at home, and unfortunately over the last couple of years, for one adorable child (one of Sophie's best friends), the Ifor ward of the Whittington hospital has become a second one. From the time his parents have spent there, they have noticed three things; it’s very hard to keep sick children in bed so they can recover; even harder to entertain a child who’s feeling poorly; and practically impossible to obtain funds from the NHS for softer palliatives. For this reason I am helping to raise funds for something his parents feel is vitally important to provide; TVs .On September the 29th I will be participating in the ‘run to the beat’ half marathon in east London. This is quite a big deal when you consider I have recently purchased my very first pair of running shoes and that I need to keep up with a superhuman Californian triathlete and another friend firmly set on crushing the 1:30 time set in the glory of his youth. It would mean a great deal to me if you would contribute what you can afford to something I genuinely feel will make a big difference to kids on their roads to recovery. Many thanks and Warmest RegardsBrett Afshar* Charities pay a small fee for our service. Find out how much it is and what we do for it.
