We provide essential care and support to people with life threatening illnesses

Story

The Sara Lee Trust aims to improve the lives and well-being of people affected by cancer and other life-threatening illnesses in the Hastings and Rother area through the provision, free of charge, of psychological and counselling support, creative and complementary therapies, and therapeutic group activities. The Trust is also the dedicated provider of end of life counselling and complementary therapy services to patients of St Michael’s Hospice in St Leonards-on-Sea and the Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital.

Kieron's best mate and best man, Jim, was diagosed with stage 3 bowel cancer and has undergone loads of chemotherapy and a serious operation to try to stop the spread. Unfortunately this procedure did not work and the cancer has spread. The Sara Lee Trust have been incredible in supporting Jim and his family with counselling services. Kieron asked Jim if there is anything he can do to support and Jim said raise money for the trust by running a marathon. Tom is just a lunatic who wants to hurt himself but is also a top bloke.

We need money, quite a fair chunk, but it's worth it. We'll also need support and we're intending to run the Tonbridge or Basingstoke Half Marathon in October 2023 and the Eastbourne or Hastings Half Marathon in March 2024.

Thank you for your generosity, anything you can give will be awesome. We'll keep you posted with training and how we're feeling.

Cheers Kieron and Tom
