This year I have set myself the goal to run the Jungfrau marathon in aid of the charity Sister Marys Children who provide a safe home and education to orphans in the South African city of Mthata. Your support to raise funds for my favourite charity would be much appreciated.

I first met Sister Mary Paule in 1993 when I was a volunteer in the Mthatha region of South Africa. I became familiar with Sister Marys work through my visits to the Ikhwezi Lokusa school. Later in 2000 I visited South Africa again and Sister Mary introduced me to one other new projects, the Bethany Childrens Home which supports children from the ages of 0-6 years old.

After the tragic death of Sister Mary Paule in 2014 this charity was set up to support the continuation of  local projects in Mthatha which aid the education and  development of some of the most vulnerable children and young people of the Mthatha region who she devoted her life to.

My first fundraiser for SMC was in October 2017 when I ran the Lucerne marathon. I will run the Jungfrau marathon in September 2021 and I would like to raise some funds to support SMC along the way.
