Story

On October 3rd I will be travelling to South Africa to Volunteer with Care For Wild - The World's biggest rhino orphanage, rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing orphaned rhinos whose mothers have been brutally murdered by poachers for their horns. 🦏

Rhinos are brutally murdered daily in National Parks, Provincial Parks and on private property to meet the demand for bogus medicines made from rhino horn. The illegal rhino horn trade catapulted the status of the White Rhino to ‘Near Threatened’ and the Black Rhino to ‘Critically Endangered’

In 2021, 451 rhinos were killed in South Africa. It’s the first time in six years that the country has recorded an increase in rhino poaching incidents. Despite extra protection measures, at least one rhino is still killed every day and the impact of such intense poaching has caused Kruger’s rhino population to drop by 60% since 2013.

So I will be raising money for Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary (UK) who help raise funds towards the conservation of endangered species. They do this by making grants towards the rescue and ongoing care of any orphaned animals, but also recognise and support the importance of community development to help provide education, health services and jobs and thereby reduce the temptation to succumb to poaching in the first place.

I hope you will help me in the fight to save the lives of these beautiful iconic animals and not forgetting the brave men and women who put their lives on the line everyday to protect them 🖤

Thank you for your support 🙏🏻

About the charity

We exist to help save endangered species, in particular black and white rhinos, orphaned by the poaching epidemic which is threatening their extinction in South Africa. Part of this aim is achieved by working to develop the communities local to the sanctuary in Mpumalanga province, South Africa.
