I'm joining Cancer Research UK's Race for Life this year. Please join the fight by digging deep and sponsoring me - it's quick, easy and totally secure.
Cancer has touched many members of my family over the years but most recently; and hardest to cope with for me personally, was the passing of my very dear Nana Maureen.
Cancer came as a bombshell to us all when she was diagnosed with aggressive stomach cancer in April 2015. Given only 3-6 months to live she fought right to the bitter end and certainly wasn't ready to go when she passed on 10th December 2015. As my maternal grandma sadly passed away before I was born, my one special Nana meant even more to me.
My heart was and still is broken with her passing but I know doing this with strengthen me and be another step towards me coping with her no longer being here. My Nana was such a beautiful person, strong, funny, loving and brave. Cancer is such a cruel thing that seems to take no prisoners, tear's life's and families apart. Events like this are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer!
By sponsoring me, we can unite and create an army that cancer can't ignore. By sponsoring me, we will beat cancer sooner.
