We share our lives with cats. They bring happiness to millions of us every day. Yet too many cats don’t get the care and kindness they deserve. At Cats Protection we stand up for every cat to make life better for cats and the people who care for them.

Story

UPDATED JULY 2014!

In early 2013 I found myself imploring our local Cats Protection branch (Moray) to deal with an unwelcome addition to our household. He has been sucessfully rehomed thanks to Moray Cats Protection.

I feel compelled to try and raise money for this charity because there are so many cats and kittens in varying states of wellness out there who deserve loving forever homes, and Cats Protection does its very best for those it can. If I was in a position to foster for them I would - but I cannot, so I'm simply doing whatever I can and hope to raise a decent amount of money for them this year, because kittehs need ur luvs!

All the money raised here will go directly to the Moray branch of Cats Protection to help them look after and rehome the cats and kittens in their care, and to educate people in the care of their cats.

I am gathering sponsorship for cycling the equivalent distance from Land's End to John O'Groats on my little exercise bike, and I gave up birthday presents in 2013, asking people to donate to Moray Cats Protection instead. The cycling was put on hold when I became pregnant with our 2nd child because I developed SPD (I ended up on crutches towards the end, it was hellish). I had our wee boy at the end of May and I've recovered from a more recent abdominal injury (anything else you'd like to throw at me?!) so... I'm ready to complete the journey! I'll be hopping on the bike for the occasional stint in between running my business, keeping house, cooking dinner, chasing the toddler and feeding the baby. *phew*

There are many different routes and thus many different measures of distance between Land's End and John O'Groats, so I picked a median number of 1408km to aim for. So far, I've cycled 1159.5km, leaving me 248.5km to ride. Wish me luck!

Thank you for reading all this, and I hope you find it in yourself to give something towards the care of homeless cats by clicking "donate" on this page. Even if it's only £1, every little bit helps!
