My personal story is that, I Lost my Mum to Cancer last year 26th April. It was a shocking death within 9 days. It all started a few months prior to her death where she started complaining of aches and pains, eating less, getting tired quicker, which she assumed to herself "it must be old age kicking in, with her 60th birthday coming up"! She went to the doctors and A&E a few times, with 4 months having passed before they eventually started to do something about it. By this time she had lost 2-3 stone and she was really weak. They gave her a Mammogram and cleared her from breast cancer, other blood test came back negative, so we thought "few ok it's gonna be fine were not dealing with the dreaded "C"! She continued in agony, I took her to a hospital on a Monday for an appoint which by this point she could hardly walk, I was holding her walking her in like she was 80, when getting her scan, I told the lady her symptoms and the trouble breathing, wight loss so on, she advices we just go home and wait for the results. She also had another appointment the following two days. By the time we attended this I had to carry her on my back in to the hospital I explained to the lady at reception, she got her a wheel chair and sent us to A&E, there she was admitted straight away, they said she had a chest infection and she had a blood clot rupture, cause she only had 3 pints of blood left in her body and our body needs 9 pints another 24 hours and she would of died. So as the days went on trying to stop the internal bleeding, they realizes her platelets are low too, they did some Scans and on the 3rd day of being admitted we were called in to a meeting and was told that they can see shadows in the lung, top right shoulder and liver, but the loss if platelets indicate bone cancer, we were told she needs to see specialists, so another 6 days went past and the specialists had come to visit her and on that following Thursday they recalled us all for a meeting where they told us they were discharging her, as there was nothing they can do for her, her body was to weak to even get tissue samples, just by this she could continually bleed; so she came home with 3-6week to live. she died within 24 hours. It was the biggest shock of my life, nothing could hurt so much. So this Is in Honour of The Queen Of The One Liners, The Best Mum, Grandma, Friend, Daughter, Sister, Aunty, Wife, Roll model to many, I Miss You, Love You x
