I'm so proud to be taking on the 2022 London Marathon, running in aid of Anthony Nolan.

Anthony Nolan is a pioneering charity that saves the lives of people with blood cancer. Every day, their staff and volunteers match donors to people with blood cancer and blood disorders who desperately need lifesaving transplants.

I have been on their donor register since 2012 and in March 2019 I received a letter telling me that I was a match for one of their patients.

The patient was fortunate to have a number of matches - so in the end I did not have to make a donation - but during the process I was surprised to learn that even though donors remain on their register until the age of 60... they only accept new donors up to the age of 30. This is because research has shown stem cell donations from younger people are more likely to be successful.
