Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page!
As you'll know by now, I've decided to run the Brighton Half Marathon this year! This is partly because historically I've been pretty much allergic to exercise and wanted to prove to myself I could do something like this, but mostly because I wanted to actually do something productive to support a fantastic local charity.
The Sussex Beacon is a specialist, local organisation that offers year-round support to men, women and children in and around Brighton with HIV and AIDS.Outside London, Brighton has the highest number of people living with HIV - there are around 100,000 people living with HIV throughout the UK, but approximately 26% of those don't know that they have the virus.
All money raised will go towards running a 10-bed inpatient unit, a comprehensive outpatient unit, and the provision of new drug therapies as well as practical emotional and social support and end of life care.
