Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice supports babies and infants with life limiting and life threatening conditions, and their families, from across the North West region. Our specialised hospice offers a home from home environment - where babies love to visit, and where families know that their child is safe.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Little Ava Mary-Ann Mitchell was born in November 2006 with a rare genetic brain condition called Miller-Dieker syndrome which causes fits.

12 moths ago Ava lost her 4 year battle for survival.

We're doing a charity midnight mountain walk up Moel Famau to raise money for Zoe's Place Baby Hospice where Ava used to attend on a regular basis.

Zoë’s Place is the only Baby Hospice in the UK. They provide specialist respite care, palliative care and end of life care, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Their new Hospice has a top of the range play area, light sensory room, brand new single and twin bedrooms, bathroom facilities and gardens for their special babies.

The Hospice building also contains a self contained flat in which parents may stay.

The respite care provided at Zoë’s Place is open to babies from all over the country and has proved invaluable to so many of our families’ over the 16 years of our existence. Zoë’s Place does receive a grant from the Department of Health, but the majority of their annual running costs of £1,200,000 are raised by fundraising and public donations.

Thank you for taking time out to read this page. Any amount donated will be welcome.
