Story
PLEASE CAN YOU HELP **SMASH** OUR £6000 target and help to BEAT BOWEL CANCER?
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.
On 30th September, we will be joining a team of committed, enthusiastic and fit people (yes we tick those boxes too!) to take part in a London to Paris Cycling Challenge. We will be on our bikes for 300 miles, starting in London and finishing at the Eiffel Tower.
The important part of this ride is raising money for Beating Bowel Cancer and helping to promote awareness of Bowel Cancer. Please donate as much or as little as you can and help us smash our new £6000 target
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Beating Bowel Cancer gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. We also accept cash and cheques.
Please sponsor us, it's money well spent.
The charity and the 3 of us wheely wheely appreciate your kindness
Thank you,
Carl, Roberto and Helen.
Some Bowel Cancer facts
Bowel cancer is the third most common cancer in men, and the second most common cancer in women in the UK.
Each year in the UK, there are about 19,600 new cases of bowel cancer in men, and over 16,400 cases in women.
The symptoms of bowel cancer can be:
Bleeding from the back passage (rectum) or blood in your stools.
A change in normal bowel habits towards diarrhoea or looser stools that
lasts longer than 6 weeks
A lump that your doctor can feel in the right side of your abdomen, or in your rectum
A straining feeling in the rectum
Losing weight
Pain in your abdomen or rectum
Anaemia (a low level of red blood cells)
All these symptoms can be caused by other diseases, apart from cancer.
If you have any of these symptoms then it's best to get them checked out, especially if there is a history of bowel cancer in your family. For more information please visit http://www.beatingbowelcancer.org/
