Lara's getting the chop!

Lara's getting the chop! · 17 August 2015
I have always been blessed with a thick head of hair. Anyone who knows me will know it has ALWAYS been long, like way past my shoulders nearly at my bum long and a massive part of my identity. I rarely get it cut. It's very low maintenance, so really I'm very lucky
So this whole thing is a huge deal for me. Some background for you, someone whom I love dearly lost her hair and has had to have a wig. This made me realise how much I have taken my lovely hair for granted and made me think about helping someone else in that situation. So I decided to grow my hair for a few more months before getting the chop! I'll be donating around 20 inches to the Little Princess Trust. They rely on hair donations to make wigs for little girls who have lost their hair through cancer treatment.
As this is such a big thing for me, a number of my friends suggested raising a bit of sponsorship along with it- which I'll be donating to Heart Link, a very important Leicester based charity who work with babies and children with poorly hearts at the Glenfield Hospital. This charity also looked after one of my friends and her family during her baby boy, Hendrix's short, but very significant life. They are raising money to buy a piece on machinery in his memory for the hospital.
Even if you could spare a few pounds; it would certainly be most appreciated. Thank you very much
