After the hurrah of Three Peaks Brass I felt the need for another challenge. I am not sure what possessed me to think a hilly half marathon would be a good idea - especially as I don't like running and will be lacking the social obligation of playing with a brass band to pull me along.

Without being over dramatic, I think this will be the hardest thing I have ever done. Not as hard as living with a chronic and enduring mental health issue mind you, which is why Mike and I have chosen to raise money for Mind.

I find running is equal parts physical and mental and I am hoping I have the wherewithal in both camps to get round the course. I have been struggling with an ankle injury I sustained 3 weeks ago which has slowed me up physically. But mentally I am at risk of ending up in a pub in South Shields as sometimes my legs do the talking and my brain doesn't have a say.
