Story

Weʼre raising £3000 to support a 'Voyage of Recovery' for a crew of young people with psychosis to help develop confidence, skills and a fresh perspective on life

In June we will be embarking on the five day trip from Ipswich to London with a group of people who are living with or recovering from psychosis. We will be sailing with the Cirdan Sailing Trust on the mighty Faramir.

Faramir is a fast sailing yacht, purpose built for sail training. Sailing long distances in her involves physical effort and teamwork, learning how to navigate as well as cooking, cleaning and everyday boat maintenance. Learning key skills for life!

It is hoped that this experience will bring everybody together, pushing us all out of our comfort zones, and through team work will bring a great deal of achievement, build confidence and resilience; all things that will aid recovery.

We will also be doing some joint fundraising with the service users nearer the time but Covid has made this a little more difficult recently. NSFT have kindly paid the deposit for the trip.

We know it has been a tough year for all, not just financially but also emotionally and mentally, and those under our services have been hit particularly hard so please dig deep if you can. Every penny will really make a difference to someone's life.
